Avek Nahr sits upon a rocky cliff overlooking the eastern shores of the Sea of Orel. This massive fortress was built in the Fourth Age by East Eldara, but has long been occupied by the Thûlians

The castle has a sinister reputation, for many captured Orellian sea-captains have been tormented in its horrific dungeons. Recently, King Caligar Morag transferred his seat here and abandoned Castle Terathar. The reasons for this change are cloaked in mystery.

Avek Nahr is accessible via the Durendar Road, which runs north to the city of Durendar and south to Jhovar.
