Battle of Bloody Mountain

Terrible battle in 1197/6. When the Dwarf-King Melgathor the Mighty of Orrek learned of an orcish invasion coming his way, he personally led a band of three-hundred dwarvish warriors against an orc army of over ten-thousand, deep beneath the Axehead Mountains. After eight terrible days of fighting, every last dwarf, including King Melgathor, as well as over five thousand orcs were slain. This heroic stand was an inspiration for all dwarves and greatly heightened the stature of the Vraiken Clan. By the time Melgathor and his kin were all killed, dwarvish reinforcements led by his son Andrathor the Grim destroyed the remaining orcs and won a decisive victory.
