The Border Wars were a series of three conflicts fought between the Kingdoms of Ammarind and Marundi.

The First Border War (1167-1169/6)

The First Border War war began when King Cerland, known as the ‘Mad-king of Marundi,’ invaded Ammarind in a vain effort to enlarge his own nation. During this conflict, Athos-Sorel was besieged for six months by Marundian forces. The war ended disastrously for Marundi and the kingdom was forced to cede part of its southern territory to the Amari King, Cedric Escalon. The defeat caused a lasting bitterness among the Thaldain and Amador peoples.

The Second Border War (1199-1201/6)

This conflict began after a series of trade disputes over the lucrative iron ore trade in the Ironrock Mountains. Once again Marundi was defeated and its ruler; King Berand was humiliated.

The Third Border War (1221-1222/6)

This conflict began after a series of trade disputes over the lumber trade coming out of the Borderwood. Once again Marundi was defeated and its ruler; King Morland was humiliated.
