Briarstone Asylum
BRIARSTONE%20ASYLUM.jpg

Briarstone Asylum is a local institution for treating those afflicted with madness. It is located on Briarstone Isle.

The Asylum was built over a century ago by a wealthy nobleman named Kievan Rusk, who used his entire fortune to re-build an abandoned castle on the island and convert it into an institution to help those poor souls afflicted with madness.

The Asylum is run by an order of Alienists. Despite its noble intentions, the Asylum has always had a dark reputation among the nearby population of Thrushmoor.

The Inscription

Inscribed upon the Doors of the Asylum is a strange poem, which few have been able to decipher:

Along the shore the cloud waves break,
The twin suns sink beneath the lake,
The shadows lengthen
In Carcosa.

Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies
But stranger still is
Lost Carcosa.

Songs that the Hyades shall sing,
Where flap the tatters of the Yellow King,
Must die unheard in
Dim Carcosa.

Song of my soul, my voice is dead;
Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed
Shall dry and die in
Lost Carcosa.
