According to local superstition, the Briarstone Witch was an ancient, evil creature that was responsible for the "Thrushmoor Vanishing," that occurred about 700 years ago.

Several decades ago, after becoming tired of listening to the rumors about the "Briarstone Witch," the town leaders invited the Temple of Ator to travel to both Thrushmoor and Briarstone Isle to perform a series of elaborate exorcisms.

It is believed that whatever curse was bestowed, has now been expunged.
