DeVargo Barvasi; nick-named "the Spider," is the most powerful crime-lord in the city of Ashara.

Devargo is greatly feared for his brutal control of the city's underworld. All minor criminal figures in Ashara, such as Gaedren Lamm, pay tribute to Barvasi as their 'overlord' for his protection from the Law. Barvasi runs his gambling operation and prostitution rackets out of a complex of derelict ships and barges called "Eel's End," located along the eastern docks of the Old City District.
