The Ebon Triad is an cult of evil heretics from the temples of three evil Corwyn deities: Akhmahra, Karaash, and Nestor.
Triad members believe that their deities represent a fragmented divinity, and that through their actions, they can merge the powers of their three deities into one over-deity of extreme and unimaginable power. The cult has cells throughout Corwyn, each working to raise funds to finance aspects of their ambitious project.
In the eastern city of Sarkosa, the leadership of the temples of Akhmahra, Karaash, Nestor have become displeased with the Ebon Triad's recent activities. Tradition has always kept these three faiths at odds with each other, and the majority of followers of all three Gods have no wish to see the glory and power of their patron diluted through mixing with other "lesser" religions.
The fact that their deities continue to grant spells to the cultists of the Ebon Triad is vexing and disturbing to traditionalists, whose rigid faiths cannot square the contradiction. Word of the heresy has not spread far—loyal clerics have brutally suppressed the radical ideas of the Ebon Triad before they can gain more converts. For most common people, the idea that a mortal cult could bind three different powerful Dark Gods is quite preposterous.
