King Eladan Myrnäe III

Eladan Myrnäe III was the fifty-fifth monarch of Alveron, a great warrior, but a poor military leader. Eladan defeated the Vilzari at the Battle of Herrenden Fields in the year 430/5.

Unfortunately, the ambitious King Eladan then chose, against the advise of his generals, to pursue the retreating Vilzari armies into their vast desert and destroy them completely. Instead he and over 25,000 of his soldiers were massacred, and left to rot in the ‘Trail of Skulls.’

The entire incident has come to be called ‘Eladan’s Folly.’ Fortunately, Eladan’s Melanthir sword was recovered by his son Erstan and returned to Castle Myrdon.
