Battle of the Frozen Ford

The Frozen Ford was the site of a vicious, bloody battle that took place in the year 1230/6, between Marundi and the Hüornen tribes of the Northern Wastes.

The Hüornen were led by Sicard; their greatest war-chief, who invaded Marundi in 1227/6 to secure territory rights for his people. The Marundians were victorious and Sicard was slain in the battle, but not before he killed King Morland Norax of Marundi and two of his sons. This battle was the last in the dreaded Winter War. More than 30,000 men were slain or froze to death in this horrific battle.

Afterward, the Marundians dictated harsh terms to the barbarians which are still enforced today.
