Desert-Elves (the Shar'ii)
DESERT%20ELF.jpg

The Desert-Elves, or "Shar'ii," in their native tongue, are one of several elven sub-races created by the Sundering.

A variant of Wild-Elves, Desert-Elves dwell in the endless desert, burned dark by the sun, toughened by the swirling sands, and given strength and speed by the constant wind.

Because of a long and bitter history of warfare with the Vilzari, most desert-elves are suspicious, if not openly hostile, toward humans.

Thousands of years ago, the Desert-Elves evolved from their Wild-Elf cousins when several elven tribes migrated far to the south into the vast Sea of Sand.

Appearance

The Desert-Elves have dark brown skin, deep brown or jet-black hair, and bright eyes of either green, or grey, or gold. Both males and females stand usually about six-feet tall, and have a slender, almost emaciated build.

Despite their frail appearance, Desert-Elves are quite strong.

Habitat

Most Desert elf communities are found in remote, underground desert caves, always centered around a source of water.

These elves consider water the "essence of life" and accordingly, will defend their water supply with a berzerker-like frenzy.
