The current royal family of Gwynne. The Hekkarë family descends from King Garathar, who assumed the Crimson Throne of Gwynne in 674/6, after the death of King Gheren Taraghon III during the Battle of Krell. The Hekkarë family has ruled Gwynne for 573 years and a total of twenty-three monarchs have sat on the Crimson Throne at Castle Myrkur. The current Hekkarë monarch of Gwynne is King Garik II. However, the actual rule of the kingdom lies in the hands of Garik’s eldest son Gerold.
