The House of Balfor was an ancient Vaas family hailing from the Vryne Clan, which founded the city-state of Cymereth, under Margrave Cymion Balfor.
The Wars of Destiny caused the destruction of this noble family. Lady Elvana Balfor, the last ruler of Cymereth, lost her son in the Battle of Shardel, and she and her other children were forced to flee into exile on the Isle of Cynara.
At the time of the Wars of Destiny, the ruler of Cymereth was Elvana Balfor. Her armies were defeated in the Battle of Shardel, and she was forced to abandon Cymereth, and fled into exile on the Isle of Cynara. King Erin Fremantle never forgave Elvana for her treachery, and put a bounty on her life until the end of her days.
After the Balfors were exiled, Erin Fremantle granted ruler-ship of the city to the House of Mondragon and the city of Cymereth became part of the larger kingdom of Erindar.
