House Grüen

The House of Grüen was an ancient Vaas family, hailing from the Vryne Clan, which founded the stronghold of Irondale, under Margrave Malvenor Grüen.

At the time of the Wars of Destiny, the ruler of Irondale was Margrave Erathor Grüen, whose alliances with King Erin Fremantle allowed him to retain his lands and gain the title of "first Viscount" of the new Freehold of Grüenwald.

The noble Gruen family was later overthrown in a violent revolt led by Duke Varek Tunston; thereafter the Freehold came to be ruled by the House of Tunston.
