The family was founded by Lord Varek Tunston; a notoriously unscrupulous and bloodthirsty noble lord.

Under Lord Silas; the last familly Patriarch, the Tunstons foolishly rebelled against the Kingdom of Elyria, and were later betrayed and destroyed by King Furion Whitacre, following the bloody Tunston Uprising.
