Hrothgar Kilborne was an important Vaas warlord, hailing from the Cynaran Clan. He founded the City-state of Redmark in the early Fourth Age.

Hrothgar gave himself the title; "Margrave of Redmark," and his descendants, the House of Kilborne, continued to rule the city and its surrounding territory for many centuries.

Hrothgar named his territory the "Redmark Stronghold."
