Iskari Civil War

The Iskari Civil War; commonly called the "Civil War of Cyrendar," was a terrible conflict lasting from 1068-1087/4 throughout the kingdom of Cyrendar.

The war began with the death of King Ilcanar Cyrenäe II, who was poisoned by Alokkair’s agents. The king died without a rightful heir and soon disputes arose as to the proper royal successor, fueled by Alokkair’s treachery. Three of the most powerful nobles in the kingdom openly rebelled to claim the Onyx Throne; Duke Teraxas Strongfist of Cynara, Duke Varek Bracken of Hennara, and Duke Kalfus Mandrake of Varia.

Bloody and bitter fighting took place between the opposing factions that lasted for twenty years, before King Ikharos Blackburn united the kingdom once again. For decades after the war, various regions of Cyrendar remained bitter enemies and only time healed those deep wounds.
