In the year 1068/4, King Ilcanar Cyrenäe II of Iskandar was poisoned by Alokkair’s agents, leaving no rightful heir, and Foehammer; the King's Elanthir sword was stolen from Erôn-Wyntharë.
Fueled by Alokkair’s treachery, three powerful Cynaran Lords who bitterly resented their Iskari overlords. rebelled against the Onyx Throne: Duke Teraxas Strongfist of Cynara, Duke Varek Bracken of Rhoyden, and Duke Kalfus Mandrake of Vharia.
Over the next twenty years, a bloody war raged between the opposing factions before King Irenicus Blackburn finally crushed the rebellion in the year 1087/4.
For decades after the war, various regions of Iskandar remained bitter enemies and only time healed those deep wounds.
