King Istavar Brevald

King Istavar was the first monarch of the Brevald Dynasty of Cyrendar. In the year 674/6, Istavar succeeded King Ilathrin II, after he was slain at the Battle of Krell and his Dynasty ended.

Istavar was a modernist Iskari king; he disdained many of the old traditions of the Cyrendari monarchy. For example, he did not accept his 'Iskari heritage,' when he took the Onyx Throne.

Instead, Istavar kept his family name, which was quite old and honorable. The Brevald family was also unique, because it was the first noble ruling house in Cyrendari history NOT to trace their lineage "Back to the Boats" as its called in Iskari culture.

Istavar's descendants still rule Cyrendar today.
