The Jenivere is a large Kendari merchant ship, which regularly undertakes voyages between the following ports of call; Eto, Freeport, Rastios, Sasserine, and Shard.
Passengers and Crew
Captain Alizandru: An older Ralani man from Sasserine who has sailed the Shining Sea for decades, Alizandru is pleasant enough with his passengers, but a strict disciplinarian when dealing with his crew.
Alton Devers: The Jenivere’s first mate is friendly enough with passengers, but he seems to chafe under the strong discipline of Captain Alizandru. Throughout the voyage, passengers have heard the two men arguing in the Captain's cabin.
Demetrio Arizmendi: This whimsical yet short-tempered man boarded in Shard, where he immediately got into a scrape with a rude sailor. He spends most of his time in his bunk, and avoids fraternizing with the ship’s other passengers. Demetrio always seems to have a smirk on his face, as if he knows a joke that no one is privy too.
Ishiro Hasegawa: A short, rail-thin young man of Shang heritage, Ishiro boarded at Freeport and waits to reach Shard with a quiet eagerness. Aloof but not rude, he gives the impression of one who has had a hard life but find himself currently without direction.
Jask Derindi: An ebony-skinned Vilzari prisoner loaded aboard in Eto, Captain Alizandru has seen to the man’s needs with curt courtesy, but insists he be left alone. He is currently sequestered in the ship’s makeshift brig, and will eagerly inform anyone who listens that he was unjustly arrested for a crime he did not commit.
Rhys Mavato: A sharply dressed Kendari man from Shard, Rhys spends much of his time lounging in the ships’ common areas, and takes every opportunity to tell long-winded stories, boast of his past adventures, or share his strong opinions about any topic which comes up in conversation. He has made bold advances to every female onboard, but has usually been rebuffed.
Sasha Nemros: This red-haired beauty boarded the Jenivere in Rastios. Since the ship departed, the woman’s initial hostile demeanor has gradually faded, revealing a warm and boisterous personality. No one onboard has yet worked up the nerve to question her about her missing left pinky finger.
Yara: A bookish Ralani scholar who tends to keep to herself. If anyone asks, Yara will admit only that she is traveling to the Wild Coast to explore ancient ruins in the nearby jungle. Rumors aboard suggest that she’s actually the Jenivere’s owner, a Kendari agent, or Captain Alizandru’s secret lover. Yara seems to grow more intent on her studies with each mile the ship travels closer to the Wild Coast.
