Baron Loris Hazelton is the current ruler of the independent Barony of Thrushmoor.
The Baron is an un-popular ruler; he is withdrawn, un-friendly, and does not seem to care at all about his citizens or the administration of the Barony. In fact, on the few occasions where noble courtiers or travelling ambassadors have insisted upon an audience with him, Loris has cruelly berated them for "wasting his time."
Instead of attending to his Baronial duties, Loris has delegated all political matters to his Seneschal; Danforth. The Baron usually confines himself within his castle, where he is said to spend his days constantly poring over dusty tomes and ancient manuscripts in his massive library.
Over the years, the Baron has grown increasingly obsessed with his "research" into the occult. At one time, he hired an Alchemist and Loremaster named Makterian as his research assistant. Recently, the Baron has been obsessed with meeting a mysterious figure called the "Mad Poet."
