(Reign: 825-859/6) Queen Melara Eridani was the eighth ruler of Gwynne from her line.
Melara ascended the Crimson Throne after the death of her father, Galiron during the final days of the Forgotten War. She then faced the nearly insurmountable task of rebuilding her shattered kingdom. What is not well known is she was faced with new threat that arose immediately after the war— the rise of Duke Tyrus Andachi and the curse of Castle Darkon.
The Queen was forced to send her younger brother, Garth on an ill-fated mission to crush the evil that had taken over one of her vassal lords and his castle. After her brother's untimely death, she was forced to send a group of adventurers to Castle Darkon to take up the quest and destroy the evil forces within that ancient fortress.
Led by a knight named Mandravius, the second quest was successful and Castle Darkon was liberated. Sadly, Mandravius was slain holding Castle Darkon against an orc army later that same year.
