Ratfolk are a malevolent and diabolical race of intelligent, humanoid rats that inhabit various subterranean lairs underneath the surface of Corwyn.
As a whole, Ratfolk are a cruel, treacherous, but highly intelligent species that have spread their loathsome corruption to the farthest corners of the Known World. From deep below the surface, these scavengers have built a vast network of strongholds. To these creatures, there is no such thing as pity, remorse, or compassion.
Ratfolk colonies are often found in underground sewers of large cities or in dark, dank locations such as crypts, caverns and dungeons. They are prominently nocturnal, preferring to live in extended family units. The creatures have a natural ferocity, for much of their lives is spent fighting for dominance and food.
The Ratfolk have long served the Warlocks of the Arcanum, and their tribal shamans consider them as almost God-like beings.
