Rowena Gildayne was the last ruler of Karthis from her family. During the Wars of Destiny, Rowena surrendered her city to Erin Fremantle and lost her crown. King Erin later forced her to marry Devan Caswell, and the rulership of the city passed to his family.

Afterward, House Gildayne was extinguished, and the Caswells have ruled the city ever since.
