The Sable Brethren is an order of priests and clerics devoted to the God Atanavar and the pursuit of acquiring knowledge.
Some members of the Order are wanderers; some run the monastery known as the Academë, while historically, some of the more famous members of the order have become known as the greatest sages across the world of Oris.
These members of the Order wear simple black robes adorned with three silver keys representing wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
The Sable Brethren are quite secretive and can sometimes be unfriendly to outsiders. It is said that only those with the most brilliant and devoted minds are allowed to join the order.
Legend has it, that the ancient Forbidden Scrolls were scribed partially with the knowledge gleaned from these knowledgeable and devout clerics.
