Saugreth-Muir

The Saugreth-Muir; meaning "Outcast Mountains" in elvish, divides the continent of Corwyn roughly in half, separating the dark realm of Morgoth from the West.

This enormous mountain range is also called the "Spine of the Realm." There are only a few passages through these gigantic mountains, the largest of which is sealed off by a fortification called the Salkröth.

More than thirty other, smaller passages were at one time guarded by the men of the West; today, only about a dozen of these border keeps are manned and watchful.

Further north, all the ancient outposts are abandoned, and orcs freely cross the Saugreth-Muir and enter the forest of Mystwood to raid and plunder the Pale.
