The Saugreth-Muir (Darkspire Mountains)
Mountains-30.jpg

The Darkspire Mountains are a massive range which divides the continent of Corwyn roughly in half, separating the realm of Drakhara from the nations of the West.

Long ago, the Elves named these mountains the "Saugreth-Muir;" which meant "Outcast Mountains." For in the ancient times of the First Age, the Silvar once drove the hated Dark-Elves into the East and cast them out of their realm of Ectharë.

More than thirty other passages were once guarded by the men of the West. But, today, only about a dozen of these border keeps remain garrisoned. Further north, all the ancient outposts have long been abandoned, so orcs can easily cross the mountains, and conduct raids into both the Mystwood and the Pale.
