The Shorafa River flows gently northeast out of the Sha'Dur Mountains, then cuts through the Sea of Sand as it flows to the Savage Coast of the Hrön Myr.

Called by many the "River of Life," this most vital and important waterway psses through the Vilzari capital of An-Khara on its passage northwest to the coast.

The annual flooding of the river, provides the necessary irrigation for virtually all of the region's agricultural production.

The river is considered sacred by the Vilzari people, and is named for the ancient desert realm of Shorafa that existed long before Vilzar.

The Vilzari believe the spirit of the Water-Goddess Ak'Tai swims beneath the surface, granting blessings to all her followers who drink from the waters; but a curse on all non-believers.
