Siege of Arynäe

A disastrous battle in the early days of the War of the Cataclysm, in which the forces of Sorimmar, Malachar Vilmartine, and their Üthrari and Vilzari allies captured the capitol of the Ravinian Empire. Over 65,000 Imperial soldiers were slain, and many more captured. Slain in the battle were the following four kings: Beren Alaghon III of Marundi, Cedric Mäeryn II of Amar, Aden Terathë of Eldara, and Erondar Myrnäe II of Alveron. After Sorimmar’s forces captured the city in 621/5, they burned it and put to death its entire population of nearly one hundred thousand people. The battle was the worst defeat in the history of the West.
