Siege of Arynäe
The Siege of Arynäe was a disastrous battle in the early days of the War of the Cataclysm, in which the forces of Sorimmar, Malachar Vilmartine, and their Üthrari and Vilzari allies captured the capital of the Ravinian Empire.
After Sorimmar’s forces captured Arynäe in 621/5, they burned the city and put to death its entire population of nearly one hundred thousand people. The battle was the worst defeat in the history of the West. Over 65,000 Imperial soldiers were slain, and many more captured.
