The Vilshi were a primitive race of humans who founded the settlement which would one day become the city of Stormhaven
Today, little is known of the Vilshi people or their customs. They are thought to have been are a darker skinned race, with swarthy complexions. Both men and women were short, very dark, with black eyes and hair. They were broad-shouldered, deep-chested, lean-hipped, thickly-muscled, and wore little except for scanty doe-skin loincloths.
Initially, the Vilshi lived in caves and trees, and later, in tents of hides or brush-thatched huts of mud and wattle. Their villages were made up of crude mud huts, surrounded by a wooden stockade with strong gates. Within those mud-walled enclosures, fires flickered, drums rumbled, and spears were clenched in the hands of silent men capable of brutal violence. Their largest settlement was eventually conquered by the Thanns and became the present-day city of Stormhaven.
The Vilshi worshipped several dark Gods and placed their temples within a series of dark caves near the banks of the Sea of Orel. Inside those ancient caves, a series of rough-carved obsidian altars still remain to the present day.
