War of the Bloody Snow
(1238-1239/6) The War of the Bloody Snow was a conflict between Marundi and the Sköda tribes of the Northern Wastes.
The war began when a Sköda War-chief named Sicard invaded Marundi to put a stop to their raids in his territory. He brazenly marched his barbarian army south and besieged the Marundian capital of Derilath.
The Sköda siege was eventually broken and their armies driven back north, where they were finally defeated in the year 1230/6, at the Battle of the Frozen Ford. Both Sicard and King Morland Norax of Marundi were slain in this battle.
The two factions have raided each other's settlements ever since, and the border region is constantly scarred with bloody skirmishes.
